Heart for the People
“The reason we kicked off #DRIVINGITHOME with our Prince George’s County students is because we know that they are the most at risk on our roads.
The challenges we’ve experienced, and the number of accidents we’ve seen, have often been with 16- and 17-year-olds.
Plus, if we can impact and empower our youth early it will translate into a safer future for us all.
Our safe driving cultural shift starts with them.”

The #DRIVINGITHOME campaign is designed to bring meaningful change to the driving culture in the DMV. #DRIVINGITHOME assumes a consciousness of effort that is referred to as "IT".
A Call for Responsible Driving
#DRIVINGITHOME was born from the collective frustration and agony of the ongoing, avoidable tragedies on our roadways. As #DRIVINGITHOME continues to trend among youth on various platforms, it will become ingrained in daily communications and interactions.
The initiative is more than a hashtag ... it's an intentional effort to become a more responsible driver. #DRIVINGITHOME serves as a reminder that everyone should arrive safely home to their loved ones. MAKE THE PLEDGE TODAY to help change the driving culture in Prince George's County.
#DRIVINGITHOME has been so influential that attorneys representing drivers have reached out to us to have their clients participate as speakers to talk about how life-changing their bad decision-making impacted many lives. The consequences have a rippling effect, not just in their lives, but in the lives of their families, and of course, in the lives of the victim(s) and their family.
The need for #DRIVINGITHOME is only increasing, as our populations increase, and we have more drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists in our multi-modal urban and suburban communities. The #DRIVINGITHOME initiative is battle-tested within the region and is unique in that it speaks to the universal challenges; of pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles.
